I believe the world is dying from a lack of imagination. Let's do something about it. I am, above all, a writer. But I've learned a few things over the years that are apparently useful to others, so I subsidize my writing career by teaching and consulting.

Among other things, I've been a geologist, alternative energy specialist, technical writer, publisher, editor, critic, woodcutter, teacher, and the worst waiter on the planet. I've written one novel, four screenplays, one children's book, about 50 published essays, and too much poetry. After 20 years at 8600 feet, Patricia and I just moved down to Boulder. Zephyr, the amazing white dog in these photos, is still with us in spirit. His buddy Jasper is adjusting well to city life.
Plenty of bright people toil away in every field of endeavor, but many are continually disheartened, diverted, or defeated by insufficient imagination. Coming up with alternate solutions is good, but envisioning transcendent possibilities is better. All it takes to develop imagination is practice. So let's put our heads together. Locuto
